Vivint Internet downtime log for The Maples area, Phase 1 and 2, West Jordan, Utah

    Downtime is calculated by attempting to access every 5 seconds on port 80 via an open socket,
    but no http request is made. If Google doesn't respond within 3 seconds, the service is considered 'down'.
    Google is then polled continually until it is reached.

    It's also worth noting that the '3 second' outages are requests for Google that were unable to establish any
    kind of network connection within 3 seconds. I initially thought this could potentially be Google's fault, but
    I have a friend now running this same tool in a different county on a completely different ISP, and his log is
    empty... So that definitely is compelling evidence that the issue is somewhere within Vivint's network.
